3 weeks old, they walk, bark and wag their little tails. With this litter we decided to try out a baby pool and it has been brilliant, no corners to get stuck in and the sides are soft.

3 veckor gamla nu, så de går, skäller och viftar på sina små svansar. Med denna kull så beslutade vi för att prova på barnpool istället för att ha en klassisk valphage i trä. Den har varit helt underbar, inga hörn att gå vilse i och sidorna är mjuka.

2+4, so 2 males and 4 bitches was the result for this mating. They are all eating and growing as they should. It will be so much fun following these little ones and I will write here but if it´s far between it’s because I spend the time with all the puppies instead of on the internet. 2+4, det är antalet valpar i denna kull. Så 2 hanar och 6 tikar som alla äter och växer bra. Det kommer bli så kul att följa dem, jag kommer göra inlägg men blir det sporadiskt så ska ni tänka på att det är för att jag ägnar min tid till valparna istället för nätet. Puppies! / Valpar!

Nu händer det grejer! För några veckor sedan parades Happy och nu väntar vi med spänd förväntan, där kan redan anas lite tecken som kan tyda på valpar så håll tummarna!

A couple off weeks ago Happy was mated and we are now waiting with anxious anticipation. There has been some signs already that may indicate puppies, so keep your fingers crossed!

What we have been up to all summer?

Well most of the time was spent in our summer home in the south of Finland and since it was stunning, warm weather most of the time these pictures pretty much sums it up…

All the puppies behaves like fish in the water and they are so good at swimming that we have even learnt them to transport humans in the water. That’s something we usually need to wait with until their second summer but I guess these hot summer days when you can’t really excersice in any other way than swimming have made them develop their swimming skills extra fast.

Vad vi har gjort hela sommaren?

Den mesta av tiden spenderades i vårt sommarhem i södra Finland och eftersom det var fantastiskt, varmt väder i princip hela tiden sammanfattar dessa bilder ganska mycket …

Alla valparna beter sig som fiskar i vattnet och de är så bra på att simma att vi till och med har lärt dem att transportera oss människor i vattnet. Det är något vi brukar behöva vänta med till deras andra sommar men jag antar att dessa varma dagar när du inte riktigt kunnat träna på något annat sätt än att simma har fått dem att utveckla sina vattenkunskaper extra snabbt.

The girls / Flickorna

We brought the girls to the beach just a couple of days after they had arrived to take some pictures of just them together. They had a blast just running around in the sand, and jumping in the water puddles, sniffing around and playing. Feels like my and their mothers favorite spot will be theirs too in the future, but we will take it slow since the waves can be quite big sometimes and I want them to feel secure in the water before they have to swim through them.

Den 24 maj kom äntligen våra efterlängtade engelska importer hem! 3 väldigt lovande individer som förhoppningsvis kommer vara delaktiga i aveln framöver, men först ska de leka, busa och växa upp till fina, högt älskade familjemedlemmar. Vi har nu börjat få kläm på varandra och de har alla väldigt fina personligheter och vi är för evigt tacksamma till min vän Judith Carruthers, kennel Stanegate, som sett till att detta kunde gå från en dröm till verklighet. Trots COVID-19, lockdown x flera, resestopp genom länder, BREXIT och resekrångel gav vi aldrig upp och nu hoppas vi att det i framtiden kommer göra gott för vår vackra ras här i Sverige.

May 24th was the day when our English imports finally put their paws on Swedish ground! 3 very promising puppies that we hope will be part of our future breeding program, but before that they will play, jump and grow up to nice looking, highly loved family members. As of now we have got the hang of each other and have seen their lovely personality’s. We will be forever grateful that my friend Judith Carruthers, Stanegate irish water spaniels, made this dream come true. Despite COVID-19, several lockdowns, closed borders in many countries, BREXIT and trouble with the transportation back home we never gave up, so lets hope that this will be the beginning of an new era for the breed here in Sweden.
