Caroline and Jocose Captain Obvious "Otto" did an excellent job in the show ring this weekend, unfortunately they were placed as second best male so they have to continue their hunt for that last CAC.
Caroline och Jocose Captain Obvious "Otto" skötte sig exemplariskt i utställningsringen i helgen, tyvärr fick de se sig besegrade i bästa hanhundsringen och blev placerade som tvåa vilket leder till att jakten på det där sista åtråvärda certet fortsätter.

Today we had the big yearly international dog show here in our hometown, super weather like always and on top of that some super results!
The breed judge was Svein Bjarne Helgesen from Norway and he gave our home bred Jocose Captain Obvious "Otto" CAC and CACIB in male class and then SE U(u)CH SW-19 Foulby Chip Off the Old Block "Splinter" gained a CACIB. In Best of breed Splinter was placed as BOB and Otto got the green and white BOS rosette. Congrats to owner Caroline and thank you for showing him!
In the main ring Splinter was picked as one of six dogs in her group but no group placement this time.

Idag var det dags för den stora årliga internationella hundutställningen här i vår hemstad, superväder som alltid och på det superresultat!
Rasdomaren var Svein Bjarne Helgesen från Norge och han gav vår egenuppfödda Jocose Captain Obvious " Otto" Cert och CACIB i hanklassen och sedan fick SE U(u)CH SW-19 Foulby Chip Off the Old Block "Splinter" CACIB. Bäst i rasen drog Splinter längsta strået och fick BIR-rosetten medan Otto fick den grönvita BIM-rosetten. Grattis till ägaren Caroline och tack för att du visar honom!
I stora ringen blev Splinter utplockad som en av sex hundar i hennes grupp men tyvärr utan placering.

I brought the camera for our walk even if i know that the light outside isn't the best for moving pictures this time of year. But walks with 3 dogs in the same age and of the same breed just have to be captured sometimes, they always haves a blast, running, jumping and wrestling and that puts a big smile on my face. It's times like this that makes life with dogs complete!
Jag tog med kameran ut på vår promenad även om det inte är nog med ljus för bilder i rörelse denna tiden på året. Men promenader med 3 hundar isamma åder och av samma ras måste fotograferas ibland, de har alltid så riligt, springer, hoppar och brottas och det gör att jag går runt med ett stort leende i ansiket. Det är sådana gånger som gör livet med hundar komplett!
Yesterday we went to an official rally obedience competition with Jocose Captain Obvious "Otto" and Jocose Case in Point "Terra", and I was so happy to see Caroline handle Otto in such a nice way that gave him his first passed result (79p/100p) in rally obedience competition! Well done, we are so proud of you and I'm also pleased that I got it on camera.
Caroline has practiced a lot more with Otto than I have with Terra (usually I make sure they have at least learned heel and know what I expect from them before entering to a competition) but I decided to look at it as a good way for practice and also to see how she handled the competition environment. So under these circumstances I'm happy with my and Terras first try that resulted in 61p/100p, it's just 9p from a passed test so we will continue our practice and hopefully be ready soon for our next competition.
Igår var vi på en oficiell rallylydnadstävling med Jocose Captain Obvious "Otto" och Jocose Case in Point "Terra", och jag är så glad att jag fick se Caroline föra fram Otto på ett så fint sätt att de gav honom hans första godkända resultat (79/100p) i rallylydnad! Bra jobbat, vi är så stolt över er och jag är så glad att jag fick det på film dessutom.
Caroline har tränat mycket mer med Otto än jag har gjort med Terra (oftast ser jag ialla fall till att de lärt sig fot och vet vad jag förväntar mig av dem innan vi tävlar) men jag bestämde mig för att se på det som ett bra sätt för träning och också se hur hon hanterade tävlingsmiljön. Så med tanke på våra förutsättningar är jag väldigt nöjd med vårt första tävlingsförsök resulterade i 61/100p vilket bara är 9p från godkänt resultat, vi fortsätter träna och kommer förhoppningsvis vara redo snart för vår nästa tävling.
January 10th
The C-litter turned 8 weeks old and started to move to their new homes. We spent lots of time outside even if we didn't move over so big distances. The puppies got to experience lots of new smells and interesting things. To learn a good re-call was a big priority.
10 Januari
C kullen fyllde 8 veckor och började flytta till sina egna hem. Vi spenderade massor av tid utomhus även om vi inte rörde oss över så stora avstånd. Valparna fick därmed möjlighet att utforska mycket nya lukter och spännande saker. Att lära in kommandot hit var högt prioriterat.
As soon as the 3 puppies who was still at home turned 12 weeks old we started going in to the city and to open practice a couple of days a week.
Så snat som de 3 valparna som fortfarande var hemma blev 12 veckor så började vi åka till stan och till öppen träning några dagar i veckan.
In mid-March the last puppy moved to her home and we then took this familypicture. From left: Aunt Fira, baby Reta, Mother Lura and baby Terra.
I mitten på mars så flyttade den sista valpen till sitt hem och vi tog då detta familjekort. Från vänster: Faster Fira, Reta-valpen, mamma Lura och valp Terra.
In April we entered the puppies, Jocose Case in Point "Terra", Jocose Come Hell or High Water "Reta" & Jocose Captain Obvious "Otto", to some unofficial shows where they were taking turns going BOB. Then at the Swedish spaniel and Retriever club show i Boden Terra, Otto and aunt had great success, the breed judge was over the moon and really appreciated our lovely puppies both for looks and temperaments. He gave Terra the BOB-puppy making Otto BOS-puppy and Terra then went on to become runner-up BIS puppy. Aunty Fira was both BOB and BOB veteran and then placed in BIS veteran and going BIS1 working!
In May Terra showed of again becoming BOB and BIS3 puppy, this time at the Spaniel and Retriever club in Skellefteå. The day after she was BOS at the Swedish Kennel Club show where Otto stole the BOB puppy rosette from the judges hand and she then decided he could keep it since he was the best pup of the day.
I april delto valparna, Jocose Case in Point "Terra", Jocose Come Hell or High Water "Reta" & Jocose Captain Obvious "Otto", på några inofficiella utställningar där de turades om att få BIR. Sen på SSRK i Boden hade Terra, Otto och faster Fira stor framgång, rasdomaren var överförtjust i våra härliga valpar, både när det kom till utseende och temperament. Han gav sedan Terra BIR-valp och gjorde därmed Otto till BIM-valp, Terra fortsatte sedan med att bli BIS2-valp. Faster Fira blev BIR & BIR veteran och placerades i BIS veteran och hade äran att bli utsedd till BIS1 jakt!
I maj visade Terra framtassarna igen och blev BIR och BIS 3 valp, denna gång på SSRK i Skellefteå. Dagen efter blev hon BIM på SKKs utställning i Piteå när Otto drog längsta strået och blev vald till BIR valp efter att ha stulit rosetten direkt ur domarens hand och hon sa att han får behålla den då han var dagens bästa valp.
We then decided to take it easy until the puppies was 9 months of age and was able to compete for CAC. We spent lots of time at the beach and during our holidays in the cabin the dogs jumped from the dock and swam for hours each day even if the weather left much to wish for and non of us humans wanted to go in to the water without a wet suit on.
Vi beslutade sen för att vänta med vidare utställning och bara njuta av livet tills valparna fyllde 9 månader och kunde börja tävla om cert. Under denna tid tillbringade vi mycket tid på stranden och under vår semester i stugan så hoppade hundarna från bryggan och simmade i timmar även om vädret inte var det bästa och vi människor vägrade gå i vattnet om vi inte fick ha våtdräkterna på.
August 13th
Off course I couldn't keep to the plan and therefore Terra entered one last show before moving up to junior class, this time at the Swedish Kennel Club show in Överkalix were she was BOB puppy and then BIS 3 puppy with Birger while I was at work.

Så klart kunde jag inte hålla kvar vid den planen så Terra fick vara med på en sista utställning i valpklass innan hon gick upp till juniorklass. Denna gång blev det SKK utställningen i Överkalix och hon avslutade valpklassen med att blir BIR valp och sedan BIS 3 valp, allt medan jag satt som på spikar på jobbet.

After several hours crammed in a car full of dogs and packing we put our feet on Norwegian ground. This time mum Lura also joined in on the fun, and got her second CACIB and placed as BB2. Terra got BOS and CAC while Otto was chosen as BOB with CAC. Need I say the long drive home didn't feel that long?
Oktober
Efter flera timmar inklämda i en bil full med hundar och saker så placerade vi våra fötter på Norsk mark. Denna gång kom mamma Lura med och hon blev BT2 med CACIB. Terra was BIM med cert och Otto slog till med att knipa BIR och då även cert. Behöver jag nämna att den långa körningen hem inte kändes så lång trots allt?
In December it was time for another long drive, this time to Stockholm and the last show for this year. Our lovely veteran was BB3 and best veteran under the Irish judge Ann Ingram, and since the show was a Swedish winner show Fira is now also allowed to add SE VW-17 to her titles. We then entered the big ring in strong competition, no placment for us but Fira was showing like crzy. She never stopped wagging her tail and I hope that she charmed a lot of people to take an extra look at our fantastic breed when looking for a new companion.
We now leave 2017 behind us, and hope for another wonderful year with more success and happy days at shows and maybe some other competitions. But most of all we look forward to long walks, swimming in warm summer waters and spending time with our loved, curly, family members!
I december var det dags för ytterligare en långtur, denna gång till Stockholm och årets sista utställning. Vär älskade veteran blev BT3 och bästa veteran under den irländksa domaren Ann Ingram och eftersom det var en Svensk vinnarutställning så får Fira nu lägga till SE VV-17 till sina titlar. Vi gick sedan in i stora ringen med stor konkurans, ingen placering men Fira var överlycklig att få vara med. Hon slutade aldrig att vifta på sin svans och jag hoppas hon charmade många människor till att ta en extra titt på vår fantastiska ras när de letar efter en ny kompis.
Vi lämnar nu 2017 bakom oss, och hoppas på ett nytt år med mer framgång oh glada dagar på utsställningar och kanske några andra tävlingar. Men mest av allt ser vi fram emot långa promenader, simturer i varmt sommarvatten och att spendera tid med våra älskade, lockiga, familjemedlemmar!
Going through pictures from this year I found these that I took when visiting the "Blue Lagoon" just a couple of miles from our home. I haven't shared them with you before, just been thinking that I should do it but then forgotten all about them. 4 IWS's and a "wanna-be" IWS in size small, 2 grown-ups and our daughter jumped around in the warm water, it was mid-August, for almost 2 hours. Just the thought that we soon will be on the way for warmer and brighter days fills me with joy!
Jag gick igenom bilder från detta år och hittade dessa som jag tog när vi besökte "Blå Lagunen" bara ett par kilometer från vårt hem. Jag har inte visat de mför er tidigare men har tänkt att jag ska göra det, har bara glömt bort det. 4 IWSar och en "wanna-be" IWS i storlek small, 2 vuxna och vår dotter hoppade runt idet varma vattnet, det var mitten på augusti, i nästan 2 timmar. Bara tanken på att vi snart vänder mot varmare och ljusare dagar gör mig helt lycklig!
Saturday: Showday in Skellefteå at the Spaniel and Retrieverclub, IWS was judged by Torbjörn Skaar and he placed Jocose Case in Point "Terra" as BOB puppy and Jocose Come Hell or High Water "Reta" got a Prize of honor and second best bitch puppy. In the big ring Terra one again greeted Mr Skaar with a wagging tail and a positive mind, so she ended up as the 3d best puppy at the show when he gave her the BIS3 rosette!
Sunday: IWS was judged by Jetta Tschokkinen at the National show in Piteå. The winner of the day tried to steel the BOB rosette before the judge had even decided who was BOB puppy, and I think all the people around the ring had a good laugh at Jocose Captain Obvious "Otto" who, of course, was given the pink and yellow rosette that he so much wanted. Jocose Case in Point "Terra" was BOS puppy and Jocose Come Hell or High Water "Reta" second best bitch, the judge said this is what will happened today but you never know what the future brings and they are both lovely bitches.
Thank you so much to the above mentioned judges for thinking so much of our puppies and thank you to my friend and owner of Otto for taking the time to show him. Last but not least I want say to our friends at Hjortronmyren's a big thank you for the good food, company and handling of Terra!
Lördag: SSRK utställning i Skellefteå, IWS dömdes av Torbjörn Skaar och han placerade Jocose Case in Point "Terra" som BIR valp och Jocose Come Hell or High Water "Reta" fick HP och blev andra bästa tikvalp. I stora ringen mötte Terra Herr Skaar med trevligt sätt och vaggadne svans och det resulterade i att hon blev dagens 3e bästa valp av alla anmälda valpar när hon hon fick BIS3 rosetten!
Söndag: IWS dömdes av Jetta Tschokkinen på Piteås Nationella utställning. Vinnare för dagen försökte helt sonika sno till sig rosetten av domaren innan hon beslutat sig för vem som blev BIR-valp och jag tror att alla människor runt ringen skrattade gott åt Jocose Captain Obvious "Otto" som, så klart, fick den rosa gula rosetten han så längtade efter. Jocose Case in Point "Terra" blev således BIM valp och Jocose Come Hell or High Water "Reta" placerades åter som andra bästa tikvalp.
